Let the ghosts haunt you

About 3 weeks ago I set myself some goals for getting better at design and illustration. It's a bit arbitrary, but the only way to improve anything is to put it into daily practice. So I re-set my habit tracker on my phone and got to work...aka making myself feel guilty for not actually sticking to my habits. But, hey, look at me, I actually did something.

Looking at this piece, I love it. It pulls me back to college painting class when everyone told me my palette was too dark. "Like a Tim Burton movie." That always stuck with me and I felt guilty for not being bright and colorful. But as my astute colleague said "Well, everyone knows Tim Burton and not them, so...." How true, my friend, how true.
